Many thanks to all the members who played in last Saturday’s Pro’s Versus Assistants Annual Trophy.
The final tally being a 17-14 win for the Assistants team under their Captain Assistant Pro Scott Anderson, so very well done to everyone who picked up points for their team.
As you can see a very close affair, but 2 matches certainly helped swing it Scott’s way, first was the superb performance by 2 of our ladies Gill McKenzie & Chris Paxton who up against a very strong pairing in Dave Jones & Joe Nicholson managed to pip them at the post, I believe by just a single point (39 v 38). Also, there looked like a banker for my team with club secretary Martyn Hall & Andy White against a solo player in new member Stuart Gray, but don’t always count your chickens and Stuart produced some wonderful stress free golf to return a solid 37 points all on his own and claim another victory for Scott’s team.
That now takes the overall trophy rundown to a 3-2 lead for the Assistants Team, so payback is needed in 2024.
I hope everyone also enjoyed the additional NP awards, the winners were as follows –
N.P Hole 6 – Alan Yen
N.P in 2 – Hole 8 – Andrew Dickinson
N.P Hole 10 – Nathan Whitlow
N.P in 2 – Hole 11 – Phil Whitehead
NP Hole 16 – Paul Sherrington (I believe this shot was very close indeed…)
N.P in 3 – Hole 18 – Roger Percival
