Vale Royal Abbey adheres to the rich traditions and heritage of golf, with a variety of competitions and social events. Each section is run by an elected Sub-Committee Chairman with a council of elected members – their responsibility is to manage the handicaps of the members, organise the competition calendar and run a variety of associated social events.
Competitions
There are weekly competitions for ladies and gentlemen on Saturdays, with a club medal on alternate Wednesdays during the summer season. The Ladies’ Section hosts its own competitions every Tuesday throughout the year, along with numerous invitation and social events. The Senior Section holds its own competitions every Thursday throughout the year as well as playing friendly matches, home and away, with a number of other local golf clubs. Both the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s sections enter teams into local scratch and handicap inter-club tournaments.

Membership Application
Becoming a Member
New members at Vale Royal go through a simple joining procedure.
The first stage is to complete an application form along with payment of the relevant subscription (please note, the subscription year runs from October 1st to September 30th). Once received by the Club you can begin to use the course and associated facilities, including the Clubhouse.
After this, your name, along with those of your proposer and seconder, will be displayed in the Clubhouse for 14 days to allow existing members to make representation on your application and you may be asked to attend an interview with the Membership Committee. While it is rare for any issues to be raised the Membership Committee reserves the right to reject your application at which point your membership would cease and all monies paid returned in full.
Tours for prospective members.
Before you join Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club we want to make sure it’s the right place for you. After all, it should become a place where you enjoy spending your valuable leisure time.
While we know you won’t be disappointed, we heartily encourage all prospective members to take a tour of the course, the Clubhouse, the grounds and facilities.
In addition, we usually arrange a complimentary round of golf at your convenience with a Committee Member or approved representative of the club.
